Monument Valley experiences a cold desert climate, defined by very low annual precipitation. Summers are hot, but the inland location and high elevation lead to cold winters, creating a very strong seasonal temperature contrast. Precipitation is typically scarce and infrequent year-round, though there is a small increase in late summer.
